I like to work from domestic situations — still lives of flowers, colourful objects, and textiles, as well as some landscape. Most of my work is in oil paint, but I enjoy using oil pastels and soft pastels. I like the immediacy of pastel.
Painters I find inspiring include Bonnard, Matisse, and Scottish artists such as Anne Redpath.
